How are motorcycles tested?
Moto MOT - Motorcycle MOT Test Centre based in Chigwell We have been established since 2002 and are one of very few Motorcycle MOT Test Centers within Chigwell that is able to carry out your test at a moments notice.
MOT test stations have designated test bays where they conduct the test, using a range of specialized equipment. The test procedures are laid out in a manual, which the test station should make available to you if you want to look at it. If your vehicle has failed the test, you will be given a failure document with reference to this manual. You can watch the test from a designated viewing area but you are not allowed to interrupt the tester while he is working.
The MOT is carried out to the highest standards. As an official MOT testing station, we want not just to see that your bike is safe, but also to help it through with as little fuss as possible. Often small bulbs and minor adjustments are carried out this is called PRS. (Passed Repaired at Station) If your bike should fail the MOT we will endeavor to explain, in simple plain English, all the relevant problems and how they can be best rectified.
Our commitment to customer service is shown in our free 7-day retest period. Have the items that failed repaired and return the bike to us within 7 days for a free retest. We can undertake repairs, our staff will be happy to give a quote or they can be carried out by anyone else for that matter, so long as they meet the correct standards.
As always the best and most appropriate equipment is used to check that your bike is safe and meets the required standards. All our MOT testers undergo a monthly quality control test, as well as spot checks by the Ministry of Transport throughout the year.
Our commitment to the motor trade has lead us to an ongoing training program in which refresher courses run by the Ministry of Transport, are being attended by our MOT technicians.
